March 14, 2024, Town Hall Update

Dear KCA Community,

Thank you to those who came out to our Town Hall meeting last evening. For those unable to attend, here is a recap of the information shared.

Mission Statement:

Kingdom Christian Academy is a diverse community of Christ-followers with the common purpose of equipping students through Christian education. We train each student to seek academic excellence, demonstrate God’s love and grace toward all, build a Biblical faith, and lead through servanthood, using their unique talents for the glory of God.

KCA’s mission means we partner with parents for the common purpose of equipping students both academically and spiritually to be servant leaders in any context they find themselves in life. By partnering with parents, we are inviting you to be an active part of our school community. There are various ways to do this, including volunteering on committees, acting as a room parent, accompanying classes on field trips, helping with service projects, joining us for chapel, sharing your talents and abilities to help students learn new skills, and most importantly praying for our faculty, board, and students.

Over the last few months, our Board of Directors has been diligently and prayerfully working on establishing Core Values. What are core values? Core values are the deeply held beliefs and principles that guide individuals, organizations, and societies in their behaviors, decisions, and interactions. These values represent what is considered important, desirable, and fundamental, shaping the identity and culture of the entity they represent. They act as a framework for behavior, helping to navigate challenges, make difficult choices, and prioritize what matters most. As a school, we wish for core values to be present in everything we do, and recognized in everyone that is part of KCA.

In November, the KCA Board started the process of identifying the core values for our school. After careful consideration and prayer, the following core values have been adopted:

KCA Core Value - Faith

Biblical Faith

KCA Core Value - Wisdom

KCA Core Value - Service

KCA Core Value - Community

KCA Core Value - Integrity

You can find the Core Value icons and Bible verses in the attached PDF. We will be displaying these around the school for our guests, faculty, families, and students to be reminded of who we are and what we stand for.

Two of our core values are faith and integrity. Because we desire to follow the Lord faithfully, we have prayed for wisdom and guidance as we make decisions for the future of the school. God expects us to think through scenarios, see the numbers, and consider how we need to proceed for next year. Also, because we believe it is in the best interest of our school, we desire to be forthcoming with information regarding the next school year. With lower projected enrollment numbers for next year, we’ve had to consider ways to best steward our finances. One way is to reduce our staff numbers. Our adopted budget for next year has an even larger deficit than the previous years. Even with this shortfall looming, we are confident in God’s provision and not wanting to burden our families with a higher tuition, so it is remaining the same for next year at $4,750 per student.  Preschool tuition, however, will be increasing to $4,750 for four full-day attendance and $2,500 for two full-day attendance per week. Preschool parents have the option of picking their student up at noon. However, that will not change the pricing.

Our class structure for grades kindergarten through fifth grade will look different in the fall. As we have already stated, we will have to reduce our staff. This means we will be combining classes for grades kindergarten and first, second and third, and fourth and fifth. All subjects will be taught together except for language arts and mathematics. Those will be taught on grade level. Enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year will open on Monday, March 18th.

Since the beginning of the school year, our Board of Directors and administration have diligently sought to make sure the right people are in the right places. This school year we have seen a change in Board leadership as Pastor Anthony Stephens stepped out of the role of Board President and Mrs. Tiffany Cox assumed that role. We have also seen a change in the administration with Mrs. Paula Fugaro stepping into the role of Assistant Administrator and Mrs. Naomi Stephens assuming the role of School Administrator. Now, we are in the process of ensuring we have the right teachers in the right classes. As we begin this process, we are asking parents to share your experiences with the teachers your students have had. Perspective is key, and your perspective and experiences are invaluable in this process. We invite you to call or email the office to set up a time to speak with Mrs. Stephens, or you may email her anytime at naomi.stephens@kcasaints.net. Additionally, if there are issues you would like to discuss with our School Board, you may email them to school.board@kcasaints.net to schedule a time to meet.

We are excited to move KCA forward together!

God Bless
