Dear Parents/Guardians,
On April 9, 2026, we held our spring Town Hall meeting so the school board could share updates and information with you. Below is a recap of topics that were discussed.
- Review of our Core Values: Biblical Faith, Wisdom, Service, Community, and Integrity.
- Building Project Update: Jennifer shared that we have volunteer builder groups coming to provide free construction labor starting the first week of June, and work will continue through July getting our classrooms framed as part of Phase 2. Before they come, we will have our safe room constructed in May. Each volunteer group brings their own area of expertise (drywall, electrical, plumbing, etc). Mike Hibbard of Ebenezer Baptist is acting as our Hospitality Coordinator, and we will communicate any needs. He has experience working with these groups and volunteered to fill this role for us. This is an exciting time for our school, please pray over this project and for these volunteers. Our goal is to have the entire building completed, and we are working with financial institutions to make that happen. However, the work over the summer by itself will allow us to obtain a usage permit. This will allow us to use the building and have flexibility to rent our gym as a way to earn extra income. Watch for building project email updates over the summer. If you have questions now or want more information, please contact a board member or building committee member.
- Events: Comedy Night at the Brick District Playhouse was a success. We had around 100 people in attendance and we are hearing how everyone enjoyed it. This was done as a community event – not a KCA fundraiser. We sold tickets and offered sponsorship opportunities which offset all of our costs for the venue and fees for the comedian. The only upcoming event we have this school year is a donor appreciation event for the sole purpose of making sure our donors know we appreciate them and to strengthen those relationships. This is not a school-wide event.
- Re-enrollment: Recap of our new continuous enrollment process and tuition rates for the 2026-2027 school year. Both had already been communicated to parents prior to the Town Hall meeting.
- Staff Updates: All of our classroom teachers are returning, and we have 2 Specials teachers who will not be returning. Staffing needs will be communicated to parents first as part of our strategic plan to find individuals to fill those vacancies. We value finding qualified individuals with a personal connection to our school.
- News: It was announced that Mrs. Wickham will not be returning as Administrator but will be filling a role for donor focused development. Her letter to parents was shared, and is attached. At the time of the meeting, we communicated what we would like in our next Administrator so parents were aware and could share. We were not ready to place an external job posting.
- Committees: Two of our committees currently need members – Marketing and Technology, if you or anyone you know would be interested in serving on either of these committees, please contact the office.
- Miscellaneous: Those in attendance were asked to list any extracurricular activities or student groups they would like to see at KCA. If you were not in attendance but would like to give input please email tiffany.cox@kcasaints.net.
- We ended the night with our PTO providing a trivia game and fellowship. PTO also provided pizza for the evening.
We had almost all of our teachers in attendance, and we would like to see more parents attend. These meetings are not required or mandatory, but we hope you see the value in them and choose to attend. This isn’t just a time for sharing information, it’s also a time for school wide fellowship. We are providing food and childcare in hopes of making it easier for you to attend. We schedule one meeting each semester and will get dates for the 2026-2027 school year set and shared with you.
In Him,
Tiffany Cox
Board President
